The horror film is certainly doing what it says on the tin.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It drops in cinemas today, but after some advanced screenings, people are already sharing their thoughts and feelings.

Following on from the first film, released in 2013, and The Conjuring 2, which hit cinemas three years later, the long-awaited third movie was always going to have viewers in a spin.

But luckily, it seems like it doesn't disappoint. If you want a scary movie, then this does what it says on the tin...

The film tracks the real-life trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, who was found guilty of manslaughter in Connecticut in 1981.

Arne claims the killing took place after he was possessed by a demon. As Warner Bros explain: "The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It reveals a chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.

"One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they'd ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defence."

And, yep, you guessed it, the general consensus is that the movie is terrifying (no surprises there).

Reacting on Twitter after having watched the flick, one fan wrote: "I just watched the conjuring 3 and I am TRAUMATISED".

Meanwhile, referencing the new film, another said that they had just been to the cinema to see it, writing: "Really enjoyed The Conjuring. Probably won't sleep tonight now tho".

Others simply gushed about how well made the film was, overall.

"Saw the conjuring 3 today. absolute masterpiece. that's all i'm saying," one wrote.

As another agreed: "The Conjuring 3 is insaaaanely good".

"The conjuring 3 was so damn good man... swear they're so predictable sometimes but this one had me flying into the air every 5 minutes almost left my heart on the seat," said a fellow horror movie junkie.

"A couple of hours ago I got back from watching The Conjuring 3 The Devil Made Me Do It, and I can let you all know that it is excellent," someone else wrote.

Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in the movie, Meanwhile, Ruairi O'Connor plays lead protagonist, Arne.

The third film also has a new director - Michael Chaves.

Speaking about the plot, creator James Wan said one of the main aims of the third movie was to move away from the "haunted house" theme.

"I really wanted The Conjuring 3 to get away from the whole haunted house set-up of the first two Conjuring films," he said.

"It should be more on a whole different level, something that we've never explored before in the Conjuring world."

We need a trip to see this in the cinema, ASAP.
