The trailer for The Confession Killer - the streaming service's latest in a string of true crime originals - landed today.
"Either they'd found the world's biggest serial killer or it was the world's biggest hoax in American criminal justice history," rings the voiceover.
The true crime tells the story of Lucas, who was once deemed to be the most prolific serial killer in history.
Lucas was convicted of murdering his mother in 1960 and two others in 1983. After that, he quickly gained worldwide recognition, after confessing to around 600 murders.
All the while, Lucas was plied with confession interview 'privileges' such as steak dinners, tranquillisers, and milkshakes and given police files to jog his memory.
"They didn't treat him as a killer but as a friend," says another voiceover in the trailer. "Henry never lived so good, every day they brought him a strawberry milkshake. It was like he was a movie star."
However, journalists and experts soon started reporting inconsistencies in his confessions and timelines often with DNA evidence proving otherwise.
In nearly all cases, there was no direct evidence linking Lucas to the murders.
The Confession Killer lands on Netflix on 6th December 2019, but if you can't wait until then, there's a wealth of other true crime to keep you busy.
Most recently, Netflix users have been gripped by The Devil Next Door which tells the true story of John Demjanjuk, a Ukrainian-American immigrant in America who was accused of being 'Ivan The Terrible', a notorious holocaust camp guard.
