The US Version Of 'The Circle' Looks Even Wilder Than The UK's

It was revealed last year that Netflix was creating three new versions of 'The Circle', which originally aired on Channel 4.

Netflix has released the first trailer for The Circle US and it looks even more mind-blowing than the UK version.

In the UK, the social media experiment sees a group of strangers move into the same block of flats in Salford and never meet, only using The Circle, which works similar to social media, to communicate.

The aim of the show is to gain popularity in a bid to win the 70k prize at the end, but contestants can choose to play the game as themselves, or create an entirely different character in order to gain the highest social ratings.

So far, it has run for two seasons in the UK with Irish social influencer and presenter Paddy Smyth crowned 2019's winner in October.

While we know little about the contestants, what we do know is that the American instalment of the game show will follow the same format - although obviously the prize money will be in dollars and it will be in a US location.

Streaming giant Netflix released the trailer for the US adaptation on Tuesday evening, showing brief clips of the American Circle players and hinted at some of the major twists that are about to be in store for them.

Already we're gripped by one hopeful, who will play The Circle posing as his girlfriend, just like 2018 UK winner Alex Hobern, who played as 'Kate' using his other half Millie's photo to catfish his fellow players.

Running over the course of three-weeks, the series looks as good as the UK's offering and we can't wait to watch it early next year.
