Viewers tuned in to see the debut of ITV 2's newest dating show, The Cabins, on Monday night, which aims to fill the Love Island-shaped void in our lives as a result to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The Cabins swaps the Mallorca villa for actual cabins - hence the title- in which a group of singletons move into as they go to new measures to find true love. The cabins are complete with simmering hot tubs and set in the beautiful surroundings within the UK.

Nestled together in their intimate cabins, the singletons will have quality time to get to know their date on an intimate level. From heartfelt moments or declarations of love, to awkward silences and difficult dating conversations, viewers will be able to follow all their journeys and find out if the sparks fly or quickly fizzle out between the couples.

Having made it through the first 24 hours they then have to decide if they would like to spend more time together - or call it a day and walk away.

The Cabins continues on Tuesday, 5th January at 9pm on ITV 2 (

Viewers have already become deeply invested with the show. One woman said on Twitter: "That was really cute!! Nice to have a gay female couple just casually part of a dating show. Can see me getting waaay too invested into this show! Perfect timing for lockdown 3.0".

Another viewer shared: "Pretty sweet first episode there of The Cabins, roll on the rest, glued to it!"

A third person added: "Who doesn't love a new dating show to start off the year".

It seems many viewers will tune in for the upcoming batch of episodes, all of which have completed filming. "Just watched the first episode of #TheCabins it was actually quite funny," one woman said.

A second viewer shared: "It's quarky original and outside the box where reality TV is concerned. Bring on tomorrow night save me a seat Tuesday"

For some viewers, The Cabins made them miss Love Island even more. One viewer tweeted the meme featuring a blurred picture of musician Muyi Fre$co wearing yellow glasses and said: "me watching #TheCabins to see whether or not it is as good as love island"

In The Cabins the contestants are allowed to use their phones to contact people from the outside world, unlike Love Island. One Twitter user reacted and said: "me not hearing 'i've got a text" with the crying emoji. Aww.

Viewers were also happy to see LGBTQ+ representation on the show. One woman said: "OMG I got so so excited when I saw that there is gay dating on telly".

A second woman concurred: "Finally lgbt on the cabins. Yes modern society on telly".

"I do love that fact that there is same sex couples on the show," said another viewer.
