Since 2007, The Big Bang Theory has had 12 seasons, making it the longest-running multi-camera sitcom in history.
With the show wrapping up this year, fans have been clamouring to know how it's all going to end - but according to its star, one of the biggest mysteries will never be revealed.
Penny's last name has remained a long-standing mystery these past 12 years, but actress Kaley Cuoco who plays Penny revealed at the finale party that we won't ever find out.

"I kind of love it," Kaley told TV Line at last week's Big Bang wrap party. "So many things are revealed in the last few episodes; you get a lot of satisfying moments. But [not revealing Penny's last name], I kind of love."
She added: "I love it too because Johnny [Galecki] always says, 'It's Hofstadter! That's her last name!"
Pictures have emerged on Twitter showing the cast wrapping up the final episode, and understandably, fans are heartbroken:

The Big Bang Theory will be sent off later this month with a huge hour-long finale in addition to a "farewell special".
The special will see stars Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki take viewers behind the scenes of the show and will be entitled "Unraveling the Mystery: A Big Bang Farewell".
Kaley has also discussed why, for the first time, they will be shooting the episode without an audience. "We're actually going to pre-shoot the whole thing, so we'll have shot it, and then we will have an audience taping.

"That was probably because they knew I'd be crying the entire time" she said in March. "We're gonna still do the audience, but we will have taped it and shot it beforehand, so if the tears come unexpectedly, then that's just what's going to happen." she added.
She additionally called the finale "one of the sweetest finales". If you're still watching from the UK, you may have to wait a while to watch the episode when it airs on E4.
But, if what the cast has to say is anything to go by, it'll be well worth the wait - even if you won't ever find out Penny's last name.
