The trailer for the new The Baby-Sitter's Club series is here, and it's made us so excited for the Netflix revival.

Yep, Kristy (Sophie Grace), Claudia (Momoma Tamanda), Mary-Ann (Malia Baker), Stacey (Shay Rudolph) and Dawn (Xochitl Gomez) are back in suburban Stoneybrook, Connecticut, and ready to land on our screens on July 3rd.

Watch them in action below:

The much-awaited reboot is based on the well-loved book franchise of the same name, and keeps a distinct 80s and 90s feel throughout.

Centred around the teenage girl group and their babysitting service, the new "contemporary" version of their story follows in the footsteps of the 1990 HBO show, and the 1995 movie, but with a 2020 twist.

The kids are still using a landline despite the modern twist (

"What if you could, like, make one phone call, reach a whole bunch of good sitters at the same time?" Kristy ponders in the trailer.

Just like in the novels, the characters then set up a landline to conduct their business. But, the landline is actually 25 years old, and bought off an online Etsy shop. LOL.

How retro is THIS?! (

The new series features a diverse cast - with Netflix stating that the teen novel author, Ann M. Martin, wanted to show young girls from different backgrounds coming together and forming a bond.

"The adaptation of the contemporary dramedy continues to champion friendship, female empowerment and entrepreneurship," Netflix says.

The Netflix drama also covers romances and teen angst (

The show will follow friends Kristy, Claudia, Dawn, Stacey and Mary Anne, who set up a baby-sitting service for their friends and neighbours, while also having to deal with life issues.

The books, of which there were over 200, followed the group of girl teens as they dealt with issues like boys, parents divorce, illness and moving homes, all while running their babysitting business - so we're sure to get some similar storylines in the series.

"The themes of The Baby-Sitters Club still resonate 30 years after the original book series was released, and there has never been a more opportune time to tell an aspirational story about empowering young female entrepreneurs," said Melissa Cobb, VP of kids and family content at Netflix.

"Together with Ann M. Martin and the team at Walden Media, our ambition is to contemporise [sic] the storylines and adventures of this iconic group of girlfriends to reflect modern-day issues."

The Baby-Sitters Club lands on Netflix on July 3rd.
