Hold the phone: Netflix has just dropped a trailer for season 4 of Stranger Things and it quashes speculation about the fate of one of the show's best-loved characters.
Watch it here first if you don't want us to spoil it for you:
Ok, have we all watched it now? Are we ready? Permission to squeal?
HOPPER'S BACK! Whippeeee!
Yes, the streaming platform has just delighted fans by dropping the first look at the new series, set to premiere this July, and Jim Hopper is very much alive and kicking.
Captioned "From Russia with love...", the trailer opens to a scene seemingly a million miles away from Hawkins - a snowy Russian base camp.

As dogs bark and officials with guns guard from watch towers, we see workers mining in the blistering cold, before Hopper - newly balded - is eventually revealed.
Fans will remember season 3 ended with the sheriff appearing to make the ultimate sacrifice by closing The Upside Down, protecting his adopted daughter Eleven once again. However, his body was never shown which lead people to speculate whether he was killed, or if he jumped into The Upside Down portal.

There was also a post-credits scene where viewers heard Russian soldiers mentioning they were holding an American in a Siberian prison. It was hopper after all.
Netflix confirmed the news Jim was back, adding: "Although it's not all good news for our "American"; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human...and other.
"Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything...."
We can't wait for this!
Stranger Things season 4 returns later this year.
