Sometimes we think if we'd just woken up from a coma, we wouldn't know if we were in the year 1999 or 2019.

The Sugababes are releasing new music, we're buying up The Dream Phone, and to make matters more confusing, a Spice Girls movie is in the works.

Yes, in June, bosses at Paramount Studios confirmed a new animated Spice Girls movie is on the way, involving all five members. Eek!

While information is scarce right now, here's everything we know so far.

When is it coming?

According to reports, the yet-unnamed Spice Girls film is due to be released in 2020, 13 years after the girls' first movie, Spice World, was released.

The film is being released along with several other animated projects including the SpongeBob Squarepants movie.

We'll keep you updated on an exact date.

What's it going to be about?

According to Hollywood Reporter, the story will see the girls reimagined as superheroes.

While we don't know any details on the plot bar that, we know it's set to include the girls' biggest hits - as well as some new song. OMG.

Who is voicing it?

Emma Bunton, Mel C, Geri Halliwell, Mel B AND Victoria Beckham will be lending their voices to the production.

Yes, Posh Spice is said to be lending her voice despite not joining the ladies' on their tour this year.

"They are very involved," the president of Paramount Animations, Mireille Soria, told Hollywood Reporter, adding they "had an idea [they'd] been developing" the film.

Who is making it?

Nineties music mogul Simon Fuller, who produced the girls' first film, is producing the new film, while Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith are writing the screenplay.

Spice World, released in 1997, was a musical comedy film depicting a series of fictional events in the lead up to a major concert at the Royal Albert Hall.

If the new movie is anything as iconic as the first, we're in for a treat.
