Our anticipation for season eight of Game of Thrones is growing every day, and we've been given another insight into just how close the cast are, as Sophie Turner says her onscreen sister Maisie Williams will be the maid of honour at her wedding to singer Joe Jonas.

Speaking to ET at the season eight premiere in New York City yesterday, Sophie spoke about what Maisie is planning to wear to her upcoming wedding, and revealed the big news.

"I don't know why she's thinking about [what she's wearing to my wedding]. I'm giving her the bridesmaid dress," she said. "She's my maid of honour! One of two."

The pair, who play sisters Arya and Sansa Stark, have been working together on the show since they were just 12 and 14 years old, and have obviously built a strong bond as they grew up working on the hit show. They giggled and embraced on the red carpet as they promoted the latest season.

Sophie also talked about how happy she was to have her fiancé, Joe Jonas, on the red carpet with her, saying he was the "best support".

"It means so much to have him here, it's just like, the best support, the best person to calm me down and keep me calm, and if I end up crying, I have a shoulder to cry on," she said. "So, it's good. I'm so happy that he's here."

The loved up pair began dating in November 2016, before announcing their engagement in October 2017.

Sophie went on to speak about how devastated she was that the legendary show was coming to an end. "I'm devastated and excited. I put on waterproof mascara tonight because I knew it was going to be a laugh cry," she said. "I'm ready for it."

Game of Thrones season 8 will premiere on 14th April 2019. The show airs on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK, and we can't wait.
