We present to you.... Simon Cowell being splatted in the face with a pie.

Yep, when he music mogul, 61, stepped on stage to join an act while filming America's Got Talent, he hilariously got a lot more than he bargained for.

Check out a clip below:

It really was carnage on set, as before he was pied he already witnessed fellow judge Howie Mandel splatting fellow judge Heidi Klum.

And he was next in line, with Howie smashing the creamy dessert into his chops, and leaving only a speckle of his forehead pie-free.

It wasn't long before fellow judge Sofia Vergara got in on he fun, too.

The hilarious moment came in a trailer for the 16th series of the American talent show.

Moments after the group of judges pied each other, we see a straight faced Howie telling a contestant: "There's a million dollars at stake."

Meanwhile, Simon ironically advises: "You've gotta take this more seriously..."

Alongside the funny pie moment, fans were just thrilled to see Simon back in action, seeing him return to work after recovering from a serious back injury.

The X Factor boss had been out of action after falling off an electric bike last year, landing injuries which saw him land in surgery for six whole hours.

After the incident in August, he pulled out of TV commitments for the rest of the year, tweeting: "Some good advice... If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time.

"I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages."

But season 16 of the show marks his return to screens.

Speaking of the new US series, he said: "The overriding tone is that we got through it, and now doing this show means more than anything else."

If there are more pies in the face, then we're sold. Looks like Simon got his just desserts!
