If you loved Princess Diaries then this Disney+ offering is going to be right up your street.
Secret Society of Second Born Royals just dropped its first trailer ahead of landing on the TV and film streaming platform this summer.

The film bares several similarities to the Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews fronted classic.

For one, it focuses on Sam (And Mack's Peyton Elizabeth Lee), a teen from the fictional kingdom of Illyria determined to rebel from her royal responsibilities, and forever failing to live up to her elder sister, Princess Eleanor (Ashely Liao).
Ring any bells?!
Sam isn't bothered about her duties to the crown, she simply wants to make music with her bandmate BFF Mike (Noah Lomax) and dodge obligations at every turn.

So, in a bid to train her up, her mum, Queen Catherine (Elodie Yung), sends her to a boarding school, where she meets four other royals, who are all also second in line to the throne - Tuma (Niles Fitch), Roxana (Olivia Deeble), January (Isabella Blake Thomas), and Matteo (Faly Rakotohavana).
While Secret Society of Second Born Royals bares similarities to Princess Diaries, the key difference is it's a sci-fi movie at its heart.
At the school, the second born royals learn they have a special gene which gives them superpowers, and are pulled into a secret group tasked with protecting the world - no biggie!

With help from Secret Society instructor James (Skylar Austin) the group must learn to harness their powers before they can make a difference.
But it's sure to be wroth it in the end. After all, super powers trump royalty any day of the week, right?!
Directed by Anna Mastro (Marvel's Runaways) and executive produced by Zanne Devine (I, Tonya), Austin Winsberg (Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist) and Mike Karz (The Last Summer) Secret Society of Second-Born Royals lands on Disney+ on July 17th.
