Looks like we've got another mystery on our hands, as the trailer for the long-awaited Scooby-Doo reboot is finally dropped.

Scoob - set for cinema release in May - is a remake of the beloved 1969 children's series and it has a stellar voice cast lined up complete with Zac Efron and Amanda Seyfried.

Now finally, Warner Bros has released the first trailer which hints at Mystery Incorporated's most action-packed adventure yet.

The trailer sees Shaggy and Scooby kidnapped by a mysterious, brain-washing force, while it's left to the rest of the team - Fred, Daphne and Velma - to solve the crime.

Those meddling kids!

The trailer also hits at an origin story, that'll reveal how Scooby-Doo and Shaggy first met in sweet scenes.

"With hundreds of cases solved and adventures shared, Scooby and the gang face their biggest, most challenging mystery ever: a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world," the synopsis reads.

"As they race to stop this global 'dogpocalypse,' the gang discovers that Scooby has a secret legacy and an epic destiny greater than anyone imagined."

Zac Efron is set to portray Fred alongside Amanda Seyfried who will be Daphne. Will Forte will be Shaggy, Gina Rodriguez will play Velma, and Tracy Morgan will be Captain Caveman. Frank Welker will reprise the voice of the beloved dog, Scooby-Doo.

Welker was voice-over for the pooch in the 1969-1970 series Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!

The movie comes courtesy of Warner Bros. Animation Group, meaning Scoob will be animated rather than a live-action remake of the children's cartoon.

Tony Cervone is directing the production, with Chris Columbus, Pam Coats and Allison Abbate producing. Executive producers are Charles Roven, Richard Suckle, Dan Povenmire and Adam Sztykiel.

The Scooby-Doo franchise has already been turned into several movies, including Scooby-Doo in 2002 and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed back in 2004, starring the likes of Linda Cardellini and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Neither Zac nor Amanda have commented on their new roles in the new Scooby-Doo flick.

Jinkies, we're excited for this one!
