American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed there will be not one, but two seasons of the show this year, following the delays caused by the pandemic.

Ryan took to social media to announce the title of the 10th season of the show, American Horror Story: Double Feature and fans were immediately intrigued by the word 'double'.

You can watch the teaser clip below:

"WHAT DOES THIS MEAN SIR!!!," one wrote.

While another added: "U NAMED IT DOUBLE FEATURE... UMMM."

Replying to a fan, Ryan said: "It means TWO SEASONS for the fans airing in one calendar year! So double the viewing pleasure. One set by the sea (this cast already announced). A second by the sand (that cast announcement coming)."

Arghh, we are so excited!

The cast list has been confirmed for the 10th season, and includes Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Adina Porter, Lily Rabe, Finn Wittrock, Frances Conroy, Leslie Grossman, and Macaulay Culkin.

Last month, Sarah Paulson dropped some hints about her new character in the upcoming season - and it made us so excited for its return.

Speaking to The Wrap, she said: "Well, here's the deal, I haven't started Horror Story. We're only into episodes one and two and about to start three of Crime Story. Though Horror Story is shooting, they haven't been able to have me yet because of what I'm doing on Crime Story.

"But in a minute or two, that will start to be in front of me, of trying to do both of them at the same time. So I don't know yet what it's like to play the gal I'm playing over on Horror Story this year, but I can tell you that I'm looking forward to it.

"But the most exciting thing for me is I get to have a hair colour I've never had on the show, nor have I ever had it in life, and it's something I've always dreamt of doing, never done. So I get to live out that fantasy, so that's exciting for me."

Over the last few months, Ryan has dropped a few hints about what the upcoming season may entail, revealing a very creepy image on Instagram, of a mouth filled with razor sharp teeth and an 'AHS10' tattoo inked on the tongue.

It's not currently clear whether the second part of the 'double' season will officially be classed as Season 11 - or when we'll find out more about the cast for the eleventh instalment.

Ryan also didn't spill the tea on a release date, but if we're to expect two seasons this year, we're hoping it's soon...
