Riverdale fans, assemble! The time has finally come - Season 5 will arrive on Netflix on Thursday 21st January.

We've waited so long for the fifth instalment of the show - and the end of Season 4 - after production was shut down last year due to the pandemic. But the good news is, Season 5 will be extra long, as it will also encompass the last few episodes of Season 4!

So what's been going on in Riverdale?!

Well, the first few episodes will show the group's graduation and prom as they leave Riverdale High, before moving forward by seven years as planned for Season 5.

In the run up to the new season, fans have been treated to a lot of teasers - here's what we know so far...

It looks like Veronica could find out about Betty and Archie. As we know, Betty and Archie kissed last season, and it looks like Veronica could be set to find out on prom night. In the trailer, she can be seen in tears, explaining: "Something happened between Betty and Archie".

Elsewhere, the group are trying to figure out who is sending the creepy, disturbing videos, and viewers also see an unknown person dragging a knife along the face of Jellybean (Jughead's little sister).

Meanwhile, Vanessa Morgan, who plays Toni Topaz, recently revealed her real-life pregnancy is being written into the show. Certainly seems like there is a lot happening this season!

Fans will be pleased to know all the main cast are expected to return including the characters Archie Andrews (KJ Apa), Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart), Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) and Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch).

And many fans are convinced that Cheryl's brother, Jason Blossom, could be about to return, too. Back in November, creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared a very eery picture of what appeared to be of a dead person resurrecting out of a misty river.

"Nothing stays buried forever... #Riverdale Season Five coming soon," the post reads, alongside a series of emojis including a key, a graduation hat and an engagement ring.

Many fans believed it could be Jason, especially considering his body was found in Sweetwater River.

Not long until we can find out if the rumours are true!
