New Chilling Horror 'Relic' Looks Set To Be 2020's Scariest Film
Upcoming horror movie Relic is set to be the most buzzed-about scary movie of the year.
A directorial debut by Natalie Erika James, it tells the story of Edna, the elderly and widowed matriarch of the family.
When Edna goes missing, her daughter Kay and granddaughter Sam travel to their remote family home to look for her.
Once they find her, they soon begin to feel a sinister presence pervading the house and taking control of their dear relative.
Starring Emily Mortimer, Robyn Nevin and Bella Heathcote, Relic is being released in cinemas on 5th October 2020.
Already, critics are praising the horror for its dark storyline balanced with emotional themes such as dementia.
Some are even drawing comparisons with supernatural horror hits such as Hereditary (2018) and Babdook (2014), which is high praise indeed.
Over on film rating site Rotten Tomatoes, Relic is currently on a score of 100 based on 14 reviews by film buffs.
"Relic is not just one of the most terrifying horrors of the year, it's also one of 2020's best movies," said Digital Spy writer Ian Sandwell.
"A bone-chilling movie that will earn a few screams and plenty of tears from audiences," said GameSpot.
While Variety called it "enigmatic, mournful, deeply creepy".
Sounds right up our street...
Until then, why not watch the horror flick its being compared to?
Cult horror Hereditary is now being streamed on Netflix and viewers are reliving the terror all over again.
"20 minutes into watching hereditary on Netflix and my heart has stopped twice," wrote one terrified viewer on Twitter.
Another said: "Hereditary now on Netflix if you wanna watch one of the best horrors of the last decade. Some scary sh*t."
"Hereditary is finally on netflix u know damn well i'm gonna make my family watch it so they can all have nightmares," chimed in a third horror lover.
Hereditary is available to watch on Netflix now while Relic is hitting cinemas on 5th October 2020.
