Trailer Drops For Disney’s New Film Raya And The Last Dragon

Disney has dropped the first full length trailer for their new film Raya and the Last Dragon and if you're looking for another spectacular adventure, this film might be the answer.

Long ago, in the world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when sinister monsters known as the Drunn threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity.

The trailer introduces us to Raya, a fearless and passionate warrior princess who has been in training to become a Guardian of the Dragon Gem. Now, 500 years after the Drunn erased all dragons, they are back to cause more havoc. To restore peace to the world of Kumandra, she embarks in search of the the last dragon.

The fictional fantasy land of Kumandra was inspired by Southeast Asian cultures from Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Laos.

Kelly Marie Tran voices Raya, and the cast also includes Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, Daniel Dae Kim, Sandra Oh, Benedict Wong and many more.

Raya and the Last Dragon was originally scheduled to be released in the United States on 25th November 2020. However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the film's release was delated until March 2021. Like Mulan, Raya and the Last Dragon will debut on Disney+ for those with Premier Access which costs £19.99.

The Disney and Pixar animated film Soul also debuted on Disney+ due to the coronavirus pandemic leading to the closure of cinemas and movie theatres around the world. The film premiered on Christmas Day.

The film focuses on Joe Gardner, a middle school music teacher and jazz pianist, who has a lifelong dream of performing jazz music on stage.

He impresses a group of jazz musicians during an appearance at the Half Note Club.

However, an untimely accident causes Joe's soul to be separated from his body and it begins to proceed to the Great Beyond. With the help of fellow soul, 22, he embarks on an epic journey to return to his physical being.

Raya and the Last Dragon will be available to stream on Disney+ from 5h March 2021.
