Mystery teen thriller Pretty Little Liars is coming to the BBC.

All seven seasons of the hit Freeform drama will be available to watch on iPlayer on New Year's Day and we seriously can't wait.

The hit show, which was recently taken off Netflix, follows a group of teenage girls after the disappearance of their friend and the group's leader, Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse).

A year after Alison's disappearance, the four girls left behind start to receive mysterious messages from an unknown person who calls themselves "A".

The now estranged friends - Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale), Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson), Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell) and Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) - are targeted by the mystery A who threatens to reveal their deepest secrets unless they give in to their demands.

The girls then have to work together as they try to find out who exactly A is, what happened to Alison and stop their secrets from getting out.

Based on the series of YA novels written by Sara Shepherd, the hit series ran from 2010 to 2017 and was set in the fictional Pennsylvania town of Rosewood. The TV series was developed and executive produced by I. Marlene King.

As well as screening the original hit drama, eager PLL fans can also catch the show's spin-off Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists at a later date too.

The spin-off thriller ran for one season in 2019 and this will be the first time it has been shown in the UK. Alongside the return of OG characters Alison and Mona Vanderwaal (played by Janel Parrish), this new offering is centred around a murder in the college town of Beacon Heights.

On the surface everything in Beacon Heights seems perfect, from its top-tier college to its overachieving residents.

"But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be," teases the show's synopsis. "The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town's first murder.

"Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi."

Intrigued? Us too!

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists is not the first PLL spin-off series we've seen. In 2013, fans were treated to spin-off show Ravenswood, which saw Hanna's on-off boyfriend, Caleb Rivers (played by Tyler Blackburn) help to solve a deadly mystery surrounding the creepy town of Ravenswood.

The series ran alongside the fourth season of Pretty Little Liars, but was cancelled after one season due to poor ratings.

And, in other PLL news, it's been revealed that a reboot of the original show is coming to TV screens. Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin will be set around a new group of teenage girls, 20 years after a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart.

Set in the present day, a brand-new set of 'Little Liars' find themselves tormented by an unknown assailant and made to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago...as well as their own.

The exciting news was revealed on the original drama's official Instagram account in September.

"New town. New secrets. New Little Liars. A new generation of Pretty Little Liars is coming to @hbomax," the post teased.

All seven seasons of Pretty Little Liars will air on BBC iPlayer from 1st January. Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists will air on the streaming service at a later date.
