Sony Pictures has released the trailer for Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway - and it looks like the world's most famous bunny is set to take his pals on an epic adventure.

In case you missed it, Beatrix Potter's lovable bunny is back for another feature-length animated movie, directed by Will Gluck - and he's bringing Flopsy (Margot Robbie), Mopsy (Elizabeth Debicki) and the rest of his gang along with him for the ride.

In the brand new trailer, Peter (voiced by James Cordon) is attempting to adjust to his new life, now that Bea (Rose Bryne) is married to Thomas (Domhnall Gleeson).

At first, Peter tries to accept the new addition to his family. But as he begins to worry about the newlyweds welcoming a child of their own and subsequently abandoning him for good, it all becomes too much, and he decides to flea the nest.

Heading on an adventure out of the garden and into town, Peter is lost and alone at first, but soon ends up revelling in the big wide world with a crew of animal pals.

He develops something of a mischievous streak, stealing food from farmers markets and hitching lifts on the back of moving lorries.

"We're going to rob this place, are you in or are you out?" Peter asks.

But moments later, his scheme falls to pieces and his friends end up behind bars - meaning he's got no choice but to set out and rescue them.

Meanwhile, the family he abandoned is stopping at nothing to help him out and bring him home. We're talking boat expeditions, car chases and even helicopter dives - the lot.

The movie's creator said: "Bea, Thomas, and the rabbits have created a makeshift family, but despite his best efforts, Peter can't seem to shake his mischievous reputation.

"Adventuring out of the garden, Peter finds himself in a world where his mischief is appreciated, but when his family risks everything to come looking for him, Peter must figure out what kind of bunny he wants to be."

Peter Rabbit's first instalment was released in 2018, and grossed over $320 million (£249 million) in box offices worldwide.

The new movie is landing in cinemas on March 27th, just in time for Easter.

We cannot wait to see how Peter and the gang resolve this one!
