Fans of Netflix's You are set to be shocked by the latest plot as Penn Badgely hinted that Beck will return for season two, despite her ultimately demise in the basement of his bookstore at the end of the first.
Penn, who plays creepy serial killer Joe Goldberg, hinted that his on-screen love interest/ victim Guinevere Beck (played by Elizabeth Lail) will return for a number of flashback sequences.
Viewers were spared watching Beck's final moments on-screen, but Penn suggested that those grisly details are set to comeback and haunt Joe in the next instalment, which is currently in production.
Speaking to ETOnline, the former Gossip Girl star revealed: "There's a revisitation of that [the murder] with Joe in the second episode of the second season, where you get to see a bit more of the hard reality of what he did to her."
"Whereas you're sort of, for better or worse, mercifully saved from seeing that in the first season. That always haunts me, thinking of Beck. It's like, 'You really did that in the first season, and we're still going, and people really like this guy?!' That's disturbing.
"In his mind, she's not even dead. I'm not giving you some kind of spoiler, she's dead. In his mind, everyone's still alive because the pain that he feels he suffered at their hand is very much still alive."
The Netflix original series You dropped on the streaming giant on Boxing Day, and was instantly renewed for a second season.
The series centre's creepy Joe, the manager of a book store, who falls madly in love with Beck, before proceeding to stalk her and the rest.
Season one is based on the book of the same name by Caroline Kepnes, which also has a sequel called Hidden Bodies.
In the second book, Joe moves to LA to start a new life for himself, setting on a new search for love (or obsession) and ending up facing some childhood trauma.
Earlier this summer, the series announced Victoria Pedretti as the new female and will play Love Quinn, an aspiring chef who's working an unfulfilling job and who's disenchanted with social media.
Previously, showrunner Sera Gamble gave away a few teasers about some possibilities of the upcoming series.
She told the Express: "Part of the fun of continuing the story is that the loose ends from Joe's past are still dangling and could come back to him at anytime.
"He is very worried about the fact that Peach Salinger's family has hired people to investigate her alleged suicide, and there is evidence potentially still at her house from season one.
"If you look at every act of violence that he does in season one, that is potentially something that could come back and bite him. And Dr. Nicky is in prison and he is ardently protesting his innocence."
Although there's no release date yet for the next instalment - we can't wait for it.
