Peaky Blinders season six is currently in production, and already we're starting to get some idea of what's going to happen.

The hugely popular BBC One gangster drama has announced the actor Amber Anderson will be joining the gang of flat-capped criminals for their final outing.

Amber's role is yet to be confirmed, but judging by the behind-the-scenes picture posted on Instagram, she's set to stir up trouble for the gang.

Amber, 28, has previously starred in Ciara Porter in J.K Rowling's crime drama series Strike, as well as playing Jane Fairfax in 2020 film, Emma.

She also featured as Lady Anne in 2014 film, The Riot Club.

Little is known about the sixth season of Peaky Blinders, but it has since been announced that the upcoming series will be its last.

The show was meant to go for a seventh series, but showrunner Steven Knight said "Covid had changed their plans".

Instead, Peaky Blinders will wrap up the story of the Shelby family with a feature film.

"I can say that my plan from the beginning was to end Peaky with a movie," Steven told Deadline. "That is what is going to happen."

In a Cannes TV drama festival masterclass, Steven has teased what we can expect for Tommy, played by Cillian Murphy.

"Tommy Shelby - who begins as this nihilistic, looking-out only for his family person - will be redeemed, and he will become good," he said.

"I want to take him on that journey from the person we saw [in Season 1], to the person he will become in 1939."

Last month, the official Peaky Blinders Twitter account shared the news that the show had officially begun filming on the sixth season.

While there's no word yet on exactly when the Shelby family will be returning to our screens, we can have a fair stab at when we expect the show to air.

Considering that returning series director Anthony Byrne spent sixteen months working on the show's fifth outing, it seems unlikely that we'll see new drama in Birmingham before late 2021 or early 2022.
