Paul Rudd has revealed a mortifying behind-the-scenes moment he once accidentally ran over Jennifer Aniston's foot filming Friends.

The 50-year-old actor appeared in 17 episodes of the US comedy between 2002 and 2004, playing Phoebe Buffay's husband Michael 'Mike' Hannigan.

Appearing on tonight's (Friday, 11th October) The Graham Norton Show, Paul admitted he thought he would be fired from the show, which recently celebrated 25 years, after rolling over her foot on a Segway.

Yup, you couldn't make it up.

Recalling the memory, the Living with Yourself star said: "I was on the set for my first episode and Jennifer was on a Segway because she had broken her toe, and everyone was marvelling at it.

"Matt LeBlanc asked to have a go and immediately knew how to do it.I then asked to try it too.I spun round and rolled it right over Jennifer's foot!

"The producers look of panic was if to say, 'Is it too late to fire him? Has his character been established yet?' I felt awful. Such an inauspicious start."

While Rudd may have not got off on the right foot with Jen, Paul went on to say how much he loved working on the show, even if he did have another awkward run-in with Jennifer, who played Rachel Green, on the final day of filming.

He added: "It was an incredible thing to be part of and the whole experience but seems a bit surreal and a bit of a blur in my memory.

"The show was a phenomenon and I was in the very last episode, which made no sense to me whatsoever.

"I was on the sound stage and Jennifer Aniston was crying and I thought, 'I'm not supposed to be here,' so to break the ice I went over and said, 'Well, we did it, what a ride.' The joke inevitably fell flat!"

Others joining Paul on tonight's couch are Bruce Springsteen, Oscar-winner Robert De Niro, Sienna Miller, actor and singer James Blunt.
