This is not the news we wanted for little Paddington. The highly acclaimed sequel Paddington 2 has lost its perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes due to one negative review.
A negative review from Film Authority has been added years after its release, causing Paddington 2 to suffer a similar fate to the movie it replaced as the "greatest movie of all time" Citizen Kane.
While Paddington fans mourn the loss of the 'greatest film of all time' title, diehard Disney and Pixar viewers will be pleased to know that the title now belongs to Toy Story 2.
In April, Paddington 2 surpassed the 1941 drama film Citizen Kane, after an old negative review for the Orson Welles-directed flick was unearthed from the time of its release.

In the 2017 sequel, Paddington (voiced by Ben Whishaw) tries to get the most wonderful present for his aunt's birthday. When the gift is stolen, he is arrested and imprisoned, and he and the Brown family have to find a way to prove his innocence and chaos ensues
However, Film Authority were not amused, branding the family film "contrived and ridiculous" for the unusual situations Paddington is faced with.
A previously overlooked review from critic Mae Tinee from the Chicago Tribune, called 'Citizen Kane Fails', was added to Rotten Tomatoes, Citizen Kane dropped from a perfect, 100 per cent fresh 'tomatometer' score to a still impressive 99 per cent.

Just like Citizen Kane, Paddington 2 now has a 99 per cent score after the negative review was added.
The tomatometer score is based on the percentage of professional critic reviews that are positive. The number of positive reviews also affects the score. Citizen Kane has 116 reviews in total while Paddington 2 has 245 reviews including the newly added negative critique.
Fans of the marmalade-loving bear will be pleased to know that a third film is currently in development.
