It's been a long ol' wait for Ozark fans, as the crime drama last wrapped up its second season in 2018. But finally - yes finally - it's back for Season 3.

Yes, the Jason Bateman-starring Netflix show will be returning on 27th March and we can barely wait.

The 10-part series will be landing on the streaming platform and fans will finally get to find out what becomes of Marty and Wendy Byrde and their long-suffering family.

To recap, the drama follows Marty (Bateman), a Chicago-based financial planner and seemingly average family man, who becomes embroiled in laundering money for the Mexican drug cartel.

When his partner betrays the cartel and is killed, Marty promises the drug lords to repay the money his partner stole and wash $500 million in five years if him and his family can walk away with their lives.

With his wife Wendy (Laura Linney) and two kids, Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) and Jonah (Skylar Gaertner), Marty relocates to the Ozarks where he promises gang leaders will be fruitful for laundering.

While there, The Byrde's pose as community pillars and entrepreneurs who use a diner, strip club and even a church to launder the dirty cash, all while the FBI hover close. Along the way, Marty meets a number of characters including Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner), a gumptious 19-year-old who he hires as help.

The first season of the Breaking Bad-esque drama aired in July 2017, with the second following in October 2018.

Season 2 saw Wendy Byre's transformation from unwilling bystander to architect of the Byrde family operation, creating a direct communication with the cartel.

Fans will recall the season ended with Wendy foiling Marty's plans to have the family flee to Australia, as they prepared for the opening of their casino - the next in their money laundering venture.

The show's star Jason Bateman confirmed the news Ozark had been renewed for a third season back in October, with the tweet: "I'm happy for me, but concerned for Marty - it's official OZARK 3 is on its way."

In January, Netflix teased the series sharing a bunch of new photos that show the Byrde family in various compromising situations (well, what's new?)

So what will it be about?

According to the show's producer Chris Mundy, the third season will follow Marty as his embroilment in crime descends to dangerous new levels. Let's not forget Season 2 saw Marty kill a pastor - how much worse can it get?

Mundy tells The Hollywood Reporter: "Ruth is more and more self-confident, but she's grateful to Marty for being the first person to believe in her and give her responsibilities.

"Going into season three, we see her very much wanting to be a member of the Byrde family. However, as she gets deeper and deeper into the enterprise, she starts to wonder if being a Byrde is the best thing to be."

He also revealed that Wendy's brother, "Who we've hinted at the first couple years as having some sort of mental illness in the past" will be added to the cast. "[He's] going to be a very destabilising factor," he added.

Netflix announced earlier that Madison Thompson (NCIS: New Orleans) will also be joining the cast as Erin, the teenage daughter of Helen - played by Janet McTeer - while Joseph Sikora (Shutter Island) and Felix Solis (NYC 22) will feature in recurring roles and Tom Pelphrey (Iron Fist) and Jessica Frances Dukes (Jessica Jones) will also join the cast as series regulars.

Ozark Season 3 landed on Netflix on 27th March. We're counting down the days.
