Ovie Is Here To Prove Men Should Always Hold Friends Accountable For Sh*tty Behaviour Towards Women

In last night's Love Island, Ovie Soko proved once again why he's a shining example of mankind, when he called out one fellow male Islander on his treatment of women.

The 28-year-old basketball player sat down for a chat with Michael Griffiths to talk about the events of the night before in which he rudely pulled Amber Gill for a chat - a scene which garnered 147 Ofcom complaints.

Taking to the beanbags, Ovie questioned the 27-year-old firefighter about his approach to his conversation with the 21-year-old beautician in a calm, non-accusatory way.

After explaining he controversial "sit down" comment, claiming it was to save Amber from walking in heels, Ovie asked: "Can you honestly say, man-to-man, that the way you are speaking to me now, is the way you spoke to her yesterday?"

After pushing along with his 'not wanting Amber to get up' excuse, Ovie probed further: "The exact way you told her to 'sit down', the exact way you spoke to her yesterday, if that had been your marge or your sister and you were standing right there, would you have just let that conversation run, honestly?"

The six foot seven Islander had clearly given his friend some food for thought, as directly after Michael decided to pull Amber aside to apologise.

Ovie gave a lesson in how men should hold their friends accountable for their treatment of women, no matter how awkward or seemingly against 'bro code' it might be.

The way he got Michael to take an introspective look at his actions, in an emotionally mature way, should be applauded.

What a legend. Take notes, guys.

The conversation followed the events of the evening before in which viewers were pretty shocked when Michael pulled his former crush for a chat, by telling her to "sit down", before telling her he wasn't interested in her and leaving her on the beanbags.

Amber soon took solace in her villa BFF Ovie, where she vented that her friends - including Anna, Maura, Jordan and Curtis - had told her how rude Michael acted towards her privately and "riled" her up, but didn't call him out on the way he had spoken to her and carried on hanging out with him.

"You need to see who's for you and who's not for you," Ovie told her.

When Ovie decides to start his own talk show, we'll be watching.
