Fans have had to wait a long two years since Our Girl was last on our screens, but the military drama will soon return as BBC tease the new series.

Michelle Keegan, who plays lead role Georgie Lane, introduces an exclusive sneak peak of series 4 on the broadcaster's Twitter. It comes just weeks after the actress, 32, announced she was quitting the role, with the fourth season being her last.

The clip shows a frantic scene, as Georgie, her sister, mother and grandmother are rushing to get ready for a wedding (judging by the white dress hanging up in the background).

The army medic helps her grandmother, who has been burned by a straightener, before advising her sister on what eye makeup to choose, as her mother complains of laddering her tights.

Finally, her father enters the room and tells the women to hurry as the car's arrived.

It's not clear whose wedding it is, but fans are beginning to speculate it's Georgie's wedding day.

"Is Georgie getting married again? Or trying too? (sic)" wrote one fan.

"I think her sister and Fingers are getting married," another speculated.

Series 3 part 2 - which aired in 2018 - saw Georgie come to terms with the death of her ex-fiancé, Elvis (Luke Pasqualino). The character was killed off last series and fans were devo'd by his death.

In January, Keegan confirmed that series 4 would be her last.

"I've had the most incredible four years on the show," the actress said in a statement.

"Playing Georgie has been a life changing role for me. I've loved every second... so it was a very hard decision to make not to return."

BBC haven't confirmed if they'll be continuing the show, and if so, who will replace her.

While there's no official date for Our Girl's return yet, we're betting we don't have long to wait. Excited!
