It's fair to say that Marvel fans are thirsty for new content since the ongoing coronavirus pandemic shifted the release of several high profile films last year. Well, the new MCU series WandaVision lands on Disney+ today and we have all the details.

WandaVision is a mini-series created by Jac Schaeffer. You may have guessed already that the series is based on the characters Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Vision. It is set in the MCU, sharing continuity with all the films in the franchise.

The series takes place after the events of 2019's Avengers: Endgame and Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reprise their titular roles from the film series.

The official synopsis reads: After the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019), Wanda Maximoff and Vision are living the ideal suburban life in the town of Westview, trying to conceal their powers. As they begin to enter new decades and encounter television tropes, the couple suspects that things are not as they seem."

Debra Jo Rupp, Fred Melamed, Kathryn Hahn, Teyonah Parris, Kat Dennings and Randall Park also star.

WandaVision pays tribute to the aesthetic and themes of old school American sitcoms, with Wanda and Vision living in a reality that takes them through different decades and television tropes.

Filming commenced in Atlanta, Georgia, before halting temporarily in March 2020 due to the onset of the pandemic. Production resumed in Los Angeles in September 2020 and was completed in November. Disney+ released the first two episodes on Friday, with the next seven set to follow until 5th March.

In other Phase 4-related news, there are several that are set to premiere later this year. As things currently stand, Black Widow, starring Scarlett Johansson, will be Marvel's next blockbuster on 7th May 2021.
