If you loved Gone Girl and The Girl On The Train, we've got the perfect thriller for you to get stuck into: The Woman In The Window.

The trailer for the new Hitchcock-style movie has just dropped, and it's got a stellar cast, with Amy Adams, Gary Oldman and Julianne Moore. The teaser is spooky, thrilling and intriguing - and we can't wait to watch the film.

Based on the bestselling 2017 novel by AJ Finn, and adapted into a screenplay by Tracy Letts, the movie focuses on an agoraphobic child psychologist, who never leaves home and prefers to binge watch classic thrillers like Hitchcock's Rear Window, but then befriends the neighbour across the street.

When her new friend disappears and she believes something sinister has happened, she gets drawn into the drama and her life gets turned upside down. The trailer shows Amy Adams' character as reliant on prescription drugs and alcohol, and questions her state of mind: there's sure to be lots of twists and turns, perfect for viewers who like to be kept on the edge of their seats.

The movie is produced by Scott Rudin, Eli Bush and Anthony Katagas, and also stars Anthony Mackie, Wyatt Russell, Brian Tyree Henry and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

It was supposed to be released in October 2019, but the date reportedly got pushed back because test audiences were left confused by the film so there was a need for reshoots.

At the time, Fox 2000 president Elizabeth Gabler said: "We're dealing with a complex novel. We tested the movie really early for that very reason. We wanted to make it better, and we've had Disney's full support in doing that."
