The thriller takes place over eight, hour-long episodes and fans rushed to watch the entire thing in one sitting.
Many viewers who have watched the series, based on a novel by the master of mystery thrillers Harlan Coben, are dubbing it 'a total mind f***' and 'totally addictive'.
The Stranger centres on the life of Adam Price (Richard Armitage) and his picture perfect family setup. But, when an unknown stranger reveals that his wife may have been keeping a dark secret from him, Adam goes on an obsessive quest to discover the truth.

Viewers were particularly gripped by the constant stream of twists and turns, with one writing: "The plot twists had me shook at the end of every episode".
With an all-star British cast that features Jennifer Saunders, Anthony Head and Happy Valley star, Siobhan Finneran, critics have been quick to heap praise on the show. Den of Geek called it a 'bingeworthy UK thriller' while Salon refer to it as 'an anxiety inducing thriller'.
While the original book was set in the states, the series was shot around Manchester and, while it's not specified that is where it is set, many of the cast have Northern accents.

And there have also been some changes to the plot of the book, with series co-creator, Danny Brocklehurst, confirming that the start and end of the TV series are similar to the story of the original book, but some of the middle has been changed.
With the cold, dark nights sticking around for a little while, this is a Netflix binge we're totally going to be getting stuck in to. And we recommend you do the same!
