To be fair, she has a lot to be happy about consider half her opposition got mauled by wights at the Battle of Winterfell...

The producers behind Game of Thrones definitely know how to rile up their audiences with carefully selected teaser material ahead of each episode, and this week is no different. HBO have just released eight new photos from episode four - including one of a very menacing (and smug) looking Cersei.

The photos from the upcoming episode, which doesn't yet have a title, show the aftermath of the Battle of Winterfell.

For those who need a recap: last week's epic battle episode, 'The Long Night', finished with Arya Stark killing the Night King and the army of wights falling with him. Before this point, the armies at Winterfell were majorly on the back-foot, and lost hundreds if not thousands of soldiers, including some well-known favourites (RIP Jorah). Despite this, it was a victory for the allies at Winterfell.

But now things are sure to get complicated. The war is over and we're back to the business of who will take the Iron Throne. Daenerys is now aware that Jon Snow has a claim, throwing a bit of a spanner in the works for their romance. Oh, and there's also the fact he's her nephew.

There's also the very immediate threat of Cersei Lannister, who won't be giving up without a fight.

In one of the promotional photos for episode four, we see Cersei pulling her best smug-menacing face with her new man Euron Greyjoy hovering over her right shoulder.

To be fair, she has a lot to be happy about: her opposition has been more than halved in the Battle of Winterfell meaning her fight to keep King's Landing is likely to be a little easier. "Let the monsters kill each other. We will deal with whatever is left," Cersei said - and she called it. She also appears to be looking down on something as she pulls this face. But what?

Eagle eyed fans have also noted that none of the photos show Jon Snow and Daenerys together. Now that's not to say they don't share any scenes in the upcoming episode, but it is unusual considering they spent all of episode three riding around on dragons together. And at every major gathering in episode two they were by each other's side. We know they haven't spoken since their frosty discussion in the crypt where he revealed his true parentage. Now the battle is over, could their relationship - and their allegiance - be too?

Let's delve into the other seven photos and see if we can spot any clues about what lies ahead in the battle for the Iron Throne...

In one photo we are shown the immediate aftermath of the battle, with Daenerys, Missandei and Varys flanked by Grey Worm and Tyrion Lannister looking over piles of corpses, no doubt at a mass funeral.

Another photo shows ships in Daenerys Targaryen's fleet, complete with black sails with her house sigil, and dragon heads at the bow of each ship, as they supposedly sail towards King's Landing.

Another photo shows Daenerys looking pretty happy with herself, stood with one of her remaining dragons, Rhaegal and Drogon. We wonder what she's looking at?

Ouch! Another pic shows a war-torn Jon Snow looking a little worse for wear with a huge cut on his cheek. But he's alive, and that's the main thing.

This one looks like some serious plans are taking place, no doubt on how to tackle Cersei Lannister. Daenerys looks contemplative as she hears out someone's idea, flanked by Missandei and Varys.

Still in Winterfell, the surviving leaders light torches for fallen in a vigil.

Another photo from the mass funeral shows Sansa, Arya (aka boss lady) and Bran pay their respects to the dead.

Game of Thrones continues on Sunday night with season eight episode four.
