Game of Thrones fans, we've got some great news.
Production for the GoT spin off show, House of the Dragon, will begin next year, and HBO has even treated us to some first look images.

Ever since Game of Thrones finished in 2019, fans have been waiting for news of a spin-off.
Based on George R R Martin's 2018 novel Fire & Blood, the prequel takes place before the GoT era, and focuses on the Targaryens - the ancestors of Emilia Clarke's character, Daenerys Targaryen.
Posting two first look snaps, the official Game of Thrones Twitter page wrote: "Dragons are coming. #HouseoftheDragon begins production in 2021.
"... Game of Thrones' spinoff set roughly 150 years before the events of the show. It's shaping up to lead right into the Dance of the Dragons - The Targaryen Civil War."

The drawings feature huge red dragons with (particularly terrifying) teeth and red eyes. Naturally fans were so excited over the post, which has so far racked up 2,500 comments and over 110,000 shares.
One fan wrote on Twitter: "I am shaking... I am so f***ing excited. Imagine.....Imagine, on the day of the series premiere ...Oh Gosh, I will die . #HouseOfTheDragon."
While another said: "Can't wait to be excited about this world again. House of the Dragon is in good hands."

With production beginning in 2021, it's likely that House of the Dragon will air at some point in 2022. However, we have already been treated to some news about the cast and crew of the show.
Paddy Considine (Hot Fuzz, Peaky Blinders) is playing King Viserys I Targaryen. Meanwhile, according to Entertainment Weekly, the series will feature 10 episodes with Ryan Condal (Colony) as showrunner along with Miguel Sapochnik - who is known for GoT episodes such as 'The Winds of Winter'.
It's reported that Miguel Sapochnik will also direct the pilot as well as additional episodes in the House of the Dragon spin off.
This cannot come soon enough!
