Netflix's new eight-part series Unbelievable is set to become our new obsession.

Starring Toni Collette, Merritt Wever and Kaitlyn Dever, Unbelievable is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning article An Unbelievable Story of Rape, about an 18-year-old girl who was prosecuted after being found guilty of lying about being raped.

Collette and Wever play two female detectives who come together when they suspect they could both have cases that relate to a serial rapist.

The first three episodes are directed executive produced by The Kids Are All Right director Lisa Cholodenko, while CBS TV Studios, Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly (Masters of Sex, Elementary), and Katie Couric are all producers of the series.

Couric, Timberman and Beverley had all been pursuing the rights to An Unbelievable Story of Rape, however they decided to become production partners instead of competing for the rights.

At this stage we don't know a whole lot else about the series, however it has just appeared on Netflix, albeit without a trailer, but we hope that means it'll be making an appearance soon.

The online streaming giant reads: "After a teen reports being raped, then recants her story, two female detectives follow evidence that could reveal the truth. Based on a true story."

While we wait patiently for Unbelievable to drop, the TV series Dirty John is set to land on the streaming service on 14th February.

In case you haven't heard of Dirty John, it follows a hugely popular podcast of the same name, created by Christopher Goffard, depicting the true story of couple John Meehan and Debra Newell.

Anaesthetist John uses his charm to work his way into successful interior designer Debra's life, thanks to allure and good looks.

Within two months he managed to convince her to marry him in Las Vegas, in what later transpired to be a calculated attempt to get his hands on her money.

But, Debra's daughters, Veronica and Terra were suspicious of the charming yet angry John and tried to convince their mother that John is no good for her. Sadly their attempts created a rift with their beloved mum and allowed John to dig his claws in even deeper.
