Ever since season 2 of You dropped last week on Netflix, those who successfully binged all 10-episodes have been taking to social media to share fan theories about the next instalment.

And while we may be getting ahead of ourselves, one eagle-eyed viewer noticed an interesting nod to the past, specifically Joe Goldberg/Will Bettelheim's past and his former girlfriend.

In one scene for the most recent season, Twitter user Julia_Anne143 pointed out that Penn Badgley's murderous character was is using a laptop that belong to his ex Beck - y'know, the one he killed at the end of season one.

Sharing side-by-side images of Beck and Joe using the computer, she wrote: "So we're just not gonna talk about the fact that Joe kept Beck's computer... #YouOnNetflix".

Fans have been left shook by the revelation, with one commenting under the post: "How did I not even clock."

"He's still obsessed with her even tho he killed her," another shared.

A third wrote: "How does he have evidence just laying around so casually".

While numerous viewers penned: "Omg i didn't even notice that!"

Of course, this has sent our minds wandering and got us thinking whether the bookstore owner is ready to close his chapter on the aspiring novelist - something we don't think he'll ever be able to.

The latest Easter Egg comes as viewers have claimed they know who Joe's next target is.

In the final moments of the nail-biting finale, Joe - who has journeyed out of Los Angeles with girlfriend Love - is seen spying on his next victim...or what looks like it at least.

Slowly creeping behind his garden fence, the bookstore owner with an impulse to kill says he'll be seeing his new neighbour "soon" as viewers suddenly notice a woman reading a book on a sun lounger.

And now fans of the show have taken to the internet to say that the object of Joe's stalking isn't a love interest but rather his estranged mother, who we saw a lot of through flashbacks in this series.

Meanwhile, Penn, who plays Joe/Will, accidentally confirmed that a third series is in the works.

The theory is plausible as Joe never confirmed whether his mother is alive (
