Netflix viewers have branded new dystopian series The Silent Sea the "best drama of 2021".
The Korean sci-fi drama is set in a world where climate change has rapidly reduced the Earth's water supply, leaving the surviving population to fight for the unevenly distributed resource.

At the centre of the eight-part show is group of desperate individuals - a doctor, two pilots, some engineers, and several astronauts - who enter into a perilous situation in an attempt for salvation.
It's not quite the light viewing if you were looking for something more akin to Grace and Frankie.
The official synopsis for the series reads: "Set in a future Earth that has undergone desertification, The Silent Sea is the story of the members of a special team sent to secure a mysterious sample from an abandoned research facility on the moon."
Along with the stellar storyline, the show stars Squid Game actor Gong Yoo as well as Cloud Atlas and Sense8 star Bae Doona.
Since the show dropped on the streaming service on Christmas Eve it has featured in the UK's most-watched top 10 chart.
And that's not all to go by as viewers have taken to social media in their droves to gush over the series, even branding it the "best drama of 2021" - quite the statement.
One viewer wrote: " I just finished watching The Silent Sea and I can say that is the best drama of 2021".
"I finished The Silent Sea and I cried so badly," another penned. "BEST KOREAN DRAMA OF 2021. Must watch!"
A third shared: "Silent Sea was the best drama I've watched this year".
"Best series this year goes to the silent sea. Its sooooo goooooood bro," another enthused fan posted.
