In a matter of days, Netflix will drop its latest series, Fate: The Winx Saga and ahead of its release, we've finally been treated to the official trailer. And it looks so good.

You can watch it below...

So what's it all about?! Well, the show, which is kind of like Harry Potter meets Gossip Girl - aka the best combination ever, in our opinion - focuses on a group of best friends, who are actually real-life fairies.

The BFFs all attend Alfea, a magical boarding school in the 'Otherworld' where they must learn and master their mystical powers, all the while navigating the usual trials and tribulations of teenage life.

But it's not just high school drama, romance and rivalries - they must also conquer the monsters that are threatening their very existence. Sounds very dramatic, indeed.

The series is created by one of the masterminds behind The Vampire Diaries, Brian Young, and is a reimagining of the Nickelodeon Italian cartoon series, Winx Club by Iginio Straffi. The show first premiered in 2004 and followed the adventures of 'fairy warrior' Bloom at Alfea College. It even featured voiceovers from the likes of Ariana Grande.

And the casting is pretty impressive, too. Abigail Cowen (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, The Fosters) stars as Bloom, Hannah van der Westhuysen (Grantchester, Lamborghini) as Stella, Precious Mustapha (Endeavour) as Aisha, Eliot Salt (Normal People, Gameface) as Terra, Elisha Applebaum (Undercover Hooligan, No Reasons) as Musa and Sadie Soverall (Rose Plays Julie) as Beatrix.

And the trailer looks so good, with just the right amount of magic, danger and romance. In fact, it looks like we're set to be on the edge of our seats, with events taking a very dark and eery turn. Iginio Straffi even called it "edgier and darker than what [fans] can imagine."

The first season of the show will consist of six episodes, and you'll be able to watch them all, back to back from Friday 22nd January.

Which means a lockdown binge watch is most definitely on the cards this weekend...
