Netflix really is pulling out the big guns when it comes to true crime at the moment. They've given us The Stranger, Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez and The Confession Killer, to name just a few of their recent offerings.
And it looks like the streaming platform's next addition is going to be equally gripping. Introducing, The Pharmacist.
Centred around a father whose son was killed in the midst of a drug deal, the four episode docuseries follows the story of Louisiana pharmacist Dan Schneider as he attempts to track down the killer.
At the start of the documentary, Dan explains he believes that the police aren't taking his son's case seriously, due to the fact he was involved in a drug deal.
So, in a bid to find out the truth for himself, the pharmacist goes on a mission to get to the bottom of his loss.
It's not just the death of Dan's son which is put under the spotlight in the gripping four-parter, as along the way he also discovers a concerning number of teenagers in his area being prescribed high powered opioid OxyContin, and learns of its highly addictive properties.
This leads the grieving father to investigate the "rampant corruption behind the opioid addiction crisis" within which his son and his death were intertwined.
And along the way Dan uncovers alleged corruption on the part of everyone from other pharmacists prescribing the pill, to the FBI.
"Just watched the first episode of The Pharmacist on Netflix and wow, it's incredible," one person wrote. "Displays such a clear image of a father's persistence toward justice".
While another added: "Netflix is on fire... The Pharmacist is another crazy doc series."
"The Pharmacist on Netflix is an eye opener many people need to see!," a third wrote.
As a fourth agreed: "The Pharmacist on Netflix is an eye opener, must watch this crazy doc series!!!".
This is certainly one to add to the binge-watching list.
The Pharmacist lands on Netflix today.
