Netflix Teases First Look At Idris Elba’s New Comedy Series
When he's not fighting crime in the super dark BBC thriller Luther, Elba will be coming to our screens in the role of Charlie, a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor, who is given a final chance at success when he reluctantly becomes a 'manny' to his famous friend's wild-child daughter.
The zany-sounding comedy, also starring Frankie Hervey, Piper Perabo and JJ Feild, will be coming to Netflix on Friday, 15th March 2019.
And there will be eight episodes of the half-hour series, which was filmed in the UK last year, for you to binge on.
Elba, 46, co-created the Netflix comedy but, unlike his character in the show, the actor is himself a very accomplished and successful DJ.
Elba, who last year directed the film 'Yardie' and is often rumoured to be a leading Bond contender, has performed on the decks at Glastonbury, Creamfields and Snowbombing - and was even a resident DJ at Hi Ibiza last summer.
The actor, who was selected as People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive last year, will also be performing at Coachella, it was recently announced.

Turn Up Charlie will be directed by Tristram Shapeero, who previously directed Community and Parks and Recreation, and Matt Lipsey, who once helmed episodes of Little Britain.
