Would you get engaged to someone you'd never met in person?

That's what a bunch of hopeful singletons did for Love Is Blind, a brand-new dating show coming to Netflix.

Brought to you by the creators of - you guessed it - Married At First Sight, the 10-episode series lands on the entertainment platform on 13 February, bang on time for V-Day.

Intrigued and horrified all at the same time? Same. Allow us to run you through the bonkers concept...

Singles are given a line-up of anonymous potential love matches to speak with. They never meet in person, so any romantic spark is based purely on conversation.

Participants then decide who they have a meaningful connection with - and pop the question.

After the proposal, each singleton finally lays eyes on their future bride or groom.

The new couple go on to plan their wedding ceremony together, but will a physical attraction blossom before the big day?

Hosted by Nick Lachey (of 98 Degrees and Newly Weds fame) and his wife, Vanessa - who have been married for nine years and together for fourteen - the series explores how important age and looks are in the quest for love, and whether strong bonds can be made purely through conversation.

The unscripted programme shares obvious similarities with its predecessor Married at First Sight, and fans of the dating show will no doubt be excited for a new spin on the format.

Married At First Sight - which saw singletons agree to go up the aisle with partners selected for them by dating experts - gave us some bum-clenchingly awkward TV moments.

There was Carly and Troy's shock romance, Tracy 'sexting' Dean, and Dean Wells' affair with Instagram model Davina Rankin, to name a few.

What shockers does Love Is Blind have in store?

Netflix USA's summary of the show reads: 'Vanessa & Nick Lachey will host Love Is Blind, an unscripted series where singles go on dates ... but don't meet face-to-face.

'If a connection is made, they propose & meet for the first time. Then, the engaged couples see if their emotional connection can turn into a physical one.'

Love Is Blind lands on Netflix 13th February.
