Netflix Reveals 'You' Season Two Is Officially In Production

Netflix Reveals 'You' Season Two Is Officially In Production

Ever since we binged on Netflix's creepy psychological thriller You, we've been left with so many questions. What actually happened to Candace? Did Joe ever get caught? Well, it looks like we're one step closer to finding out.

The addictive series only launched on UK Netflix in January, but showmakers aren't wasting any time bringing us a second season, as the online streaming giant reveals production has officially begun.

Sharing the exciting news on Twitter, Netflix wrote: "ok the You season 2 table read is happening and I don't think any of us are ready." Oh, we're ready, Netflix. Don't you worry about that.

Along with the message were two snaps giving us a little preview into who we'll be seeing in the new series.

In one picture was Penn Badgley, who of course plays the creepy serial killer stalker that is Joe Goldberg, along with his former lover Candace, played by Amybr Childers.

Interestingly, the other selfie, also taken by Penn, includes The Haunting Of Hill House star Victoria Pedretti, with the character name 'Love Quinn', although we have no idea who that is at this stage. But, if Victoria's role in Hill House is anything to go by, You season two is going to be incredible.

Obviously there are ways we could get an insight into what the second season has in store, as it's based on Caroline Kepnes' best selling novel Hidden Bodies, the sequel to You, which the 10-part Netflix series was adapted from.

For anyone who hasn't watched the spine chilling series, it follows Joe Goldberg, a New York bookstore manager, who falls madly in love with a student writer called Guinevere Beck, after she visits his store.

Joe begins to stalk Beck, conveniently placing himself in the right place at the right time to gain her affections before going to some pretty extreme lengths - you know, like murdering her ex boyfriend and best friend, to win her over.

Perhaps the strangest part of the entire story is the fact is that we find ourselves emphathising with Joe, even though we can see he's literally a murderer.

If you haven't already succumbed to Joe's alluring charm, you can stream You on Netflix now.
