There's a new coming of age drama on its way to Netflix and it reminds us of a mix between Sex Education and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging - which is a winning combo' in our opinion.

The Netflix original series focuses on the complicated life of teenager, Devi Vishwakumar (played by newcomer Maitreyi Ramakrishnan).

It follows Devi in her sophomore year of high school as she navigates friends, family and romance and specifically, the huge crush she has on classmate, Paxton.

If the trailer is anything to go by, the show looks like it will be a hilarious watch. We're first introduced to Devi as she's sitting in bed reading After Every Happy by Anna Todd.

Someone knocks on her bedroom door and Devi immediately think it's her mum barging in. But it's not - it's actually Paxton, who whips his shirt off and says he wants to have sex.

A couple of moments later and Devi's alarm goes off. Sadly, it was all a dream and she's got another day of school to look forward to instead.

Devi arrives at her high school where she's joined by her best mates Eleanor (Ramona Young) and Fabiola (Lee Rodriguez). She tells them sophomore year will be "their year" and announces she's come up with a "re-branding plan" to make them 'cool'.

Despite the best intentions, Devi has a short fuse and ends up getting into all kinds of difficult and awkward situations, all the while trying to navigate and process the usual trials and tribulations of teenage life.

Unfortunately, it was just a dream (

With Mindy Kaling having created and produced the series alongside Lang Fisher, who also serves as showrunner and writer, we know for sure we're in good hands with this one.

Meanwhile, newcomer Maitreyi Ramakrishnan bagged the role after hearing about the casting call on Mindy's social media. Having only acted in stage productions, the 17-year-old beat 15,000 other hopefuls for the part of Devi after having two auditions for the role.

The series hits Netflix on 27th April 2020 and we're expecting huuuuuge things.
