Netflix Is Dropping Four Brand New Christmas Movies This Year

It's the end of September, which means one thing - Christmas is just around the corner.

And what's Christmas without some festive films to get stuck into while scoffing a box of mince pies? Well, good news - Netflix is releasing four new Crimbo movies this year, and one of them stars Dolly Parton.

Christmas on the Square focuses on the story of Regina Fuller (played by Christine Baranski) - a wealthy but cold hearted woman who tries to evict everyone in her hometown and sell the land to a property developer - just before Christmas.

The film features 14 original songs by Dolly, who plays an angel sent to guide Regina into changing her mind and embracing the festive spirit.

It's kind of like a modern day Scrooge and also stars Jenifer Lewis, Treat Williams, Jeanine Mason, Josh Segarra, Mary Lane Haskell, Matthew Johnson and Selah Kimbro Jones. It arrives on Netflix on 22nd November - so mark it in your calendars!

Also heading to the streaming platform is rom com, Holidate, set to arrive on 28th October.

Starring Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey, the film focuses on two strangers, Sloane and Jackson, who - fed up of the judgement from their family members - pledge to be each others date for upcoming Christmas parties and family events.

It sounds kind of like The Wedding Date but without the wedding. You can watch the trailer below:

A couple of weeks later, Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, arrives on 13th November. The musical tells the heartwarming tale of of an eccentric toymaker, his adventurous granddaughter, and "a magical intervention" - which is giving us major festive Pinocchio vibes.

The movie has a mega impressive cast too, with Keegan-Michael Key, Anika Noni Rose, Forest Whitaker and Phylicia Rashad all starring.

Last but certainly not least, nine days later on 22nd November, the long-awaited The Christmas Chronicles 2 will also drop on Netflix.

The first film was released back in 2018 and was a mega success. This year, Kate - now a teenager, is reluctantly spending Christmas in Cancun with her mum's new boyfriend and his son, Jack.

Unhappy with the situation, Kate decides to run away, but when a magical troublemaker named Belsnickel threatens to destroy the North Pole and end Christmas for good, Kate is once again pulled into an adventure with Santa. Kurt Russell will return, along with Goldie Hawn as Mrs Claus.

Netflix are certainly treating us this year! We can't wait to get into the festive spirit with these...
