For anyone who grew up in the 90s and 00s, you would know that the Olsen twins commanded the screen with their flicks Billboard Dad, Winning London, Our Lips Are Sealed and a New York Minute.

And if you're in nostalgic mood this side of the New Year then perhaps you may want tune into Mary-Kate and Ashley's 1995 classic It Takes Two on Netflix this weekend.

The streaming service added the flick, which is a 90s spin on Mark Twain's classic tale, The Prince and the Pauper, to its roster of new additions this January.

In the movie, the Olsen twins play identical 9-year-olds from very different backgrounds, orphaned Amanda and wealthy Alyssa.

The film begins when they accidentally meet one day at the camp they're both staying at.

In an attempt to stop Alyssa's father from getting married to Clarice, a conceited know-it-all, the girls get him to meet Amanda's case worker and switch lives to stop the wedding once and for all.

Though things don't go exactly as planned when Alyssa gets adopted and Clarice moves up the wedding and of course, total hysteria ensues.

It Takes Two stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as well as Kirstie Alley, Steve Guttenberg, and Jane Sibbett, known for her role as Carol on Friends, who plays Alyssa's soon-to-be evil step mother Clarice.

The 1995 film was one of two cinematic releases for the Olsen twins, with the second being their 2004 movie New York Minute.

The American teen comedy follows two very different twin sisters Jane (Ashley) and Roxy Ryan (Mary-Kate), who haven't spent a day together in years - mainly because of their opposing interests.

However, all that changes in a New York Minute (get it?) when they journey together into the city for Jane to deliver a speech to qualify for a prestigious Oxford scholarship, and for Roxy to get backstage at Simple Plan's music video shoot so she can give them her demo tape.

And as you can imagine, everything that could possibly go wrong, goes wrong, in their attempt to change their lives.

Over 24 hours, the sisters end up on a thrilling adventure when they get chased by a truancy officer (Eugene Levy), meet two nice young guys and get accidentally embroiled in a shady black-market transaction.

Directed by Dennie Gordon, the feature reunited the twins with their Full House co-star Bob Saget, who plays their widower father in the flick, and also starred early noughties heartthrobs Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) and Riley Smith (True Blood).

The cinematic blast from the past was available on Amazon Prime for UK viewers and Netflix for US fans.

It Takes Two is available to stream on Netflix UK now.
