In lockdown we're forever seeking out our next hit of wholesome TV - and the official trailer for Netflix's The Big Flower Fight is ticking all those comfort-watch boxes.

The official trailer just landed - and it's giving us the same warm glow we get from Bake Off.

Why the GBBO comparison? We hear you ask.

Well, firstly, there's the subject matter: mind-boggling levels of flower arranging. Which is about as cosy as it gets, while still being super impressive.

Instead of a perfectly risen soufflé, contestants will be competing to build breath-taking floral installations.

"10 pairs of amateur floral sculptors from around the world are coming together to battle it out," narrates the trailer.

Like Bake Off, each episode will focus on a different skillset and will include a special challenge every week.

There's an equivalent of GBBO's showstopper segment, too, with participants tasked with building epic large-scale floral sculptures out of flowers and natural materials.

The trailer continues: "Teams will create supersize installations, festooned with flowers and foliage."

Cut to gigantic bears, birds and human figurines painstakingly made out of stunning blooms.

If this isn't the floral equivalent of Paul Jagger's iconic lion bread sculpture, we don't know what is.

There will also be a conservationist's theme, requiring contestants to think carefully about which plants give back to the environment (think pollinating and insect-friendly options).

Then there's the good-humoured hosts, comedians Vic Reeves and Natasia Demetriou.

Just like Noel and Sandi (who is due to be replaced by Matt Lucas) Vic and Natasia enjoy a good dad joke.

"Some teams will be going straight to the compost pile!" quips Vic in the trailer.

Oh Vic, you joker.

Meanwhile, judge and celebrity florist Kristen Griffith-VanderYacht (aka Top Florist in the World two years running) may not look as intimidating as Paul Hollywood, but his standards are just as high.

"I asked for character, I didn't ask for sloppy!" he comments witheringly during the trailer. Eek!

In true GBBO style, the series looks like it will have its fair share of disasters, too.

At one point, what looks to be a giant floral sculpture of a spider hung from the ceiling comes crashing to the floor.

Throw in a bunch of deeply passion of the contestants ("It's physical, it's emotional!" comments one, looking exhausted) and this is addictive watching in the making.

At the end of each episode, once teams have shown off their practical and artistic skills, one is eliminated.

A high-profile guest judge joins every week. These include other floristry experts Simon Lycett, James Wong, James Alexander-Sinclair, Sarah Eberle and Sophie Walker.

The winner of the show will win the coveted prize of creating their own sculpture which will be displayed in London's Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

The Big Flower Fight will be available on Netflix from Monday 18th May.
