Budding florists will go head to head in a brand new Netflix show, The Big Flower Fight.

Hosted by comedians Vic Reeves and Natasia Demetriou, the exciting new series is a bit like the Great British Bake Off, but instead of competing over a show stopping génoise, contestants will be judged on their breathtaking flower displays.

The eight-part series will see 10 creative teams competing to build incredible floral installations, before being judged by celebrity florist, Kristen Griffith-VanderYacht (aka Top Florist in the World two years running) as well as a different high-profile guest judge every week.

These include other floristry experts: Simon Lycett, James Wong, James Alexander-Sinclair, Sarah Eberle and Sophie Walker.

"My mission is to help flowers finally get the respect they deserve," said Kristen.

"This isn't your basic bunch of blooms. This is the real deal. So buckle up and get your shovel ready for some farm fresh floral fantasy realness!"

Sounds epic.

A bit like Bake Off, each episode will focus on a different skillset and will include a special challenge every week. For example, contestants will be tasked with building a mesmerising floral sculpture, aiming to create the most outlandish design using just flowers and other natural materials.

There will also be a conservationist theme, requiring contestants to think carefully about which plants give back to the environment (for example, choosing pollinating, insect friendly options).

At the end of each episode and after every team has shown off their very best practical skills, one will be eliminated.

Meanwhile, the winner of the show will have the incredible honour of creating their own sculpture which will be displayed in London's Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Speaking about the series, co-host Vic said: "I had the most wonderful summer watching immense floral sculptures emerge from nothing with my favourite co-presenter, Tash."

And it seems the feeling was mutual, with Natasia adding: "Working with Vic Reeves in a beautiful English field surrounded by loads of chicken wire - it's every person's dream job."

The show will be produced by Simone Haywood (Come Dine With Me) and Susanne Rock (The Great British Sewing Bee).

The Big Flower Fight will be available on Netflix from Monday 18th May.

In the same way our cupboards are *always* filled with sweet treats whenever Bake Off is on telly, we've got a feeling we'll become a little more green-thumbed once this drops...
