Spotify Wrapped Reveals Everyone Listened To The Hamilton Soundtrack To Get Them Through 2020

As 2020 comes to an end, one fantastic way to look back at some of the better moments of the year is Spotify Wrapped.

At around this time each year, in the lead up to Christmas, Spotify users can look back at all the music they streamed over the last 12 months including their most streamed artist, album, song and more.

Lots of people on Twitter have realised they played one particular album to help them survive the craziness of 2020 - the Hamilton soundtrack.

Some people on Twitter were pleasantly surprised while others were definitely shocked. Regardless, the reactions are hilarious.

One woman tweeted an edited picture of Hamilton original cast member Lin-Manuel Miranda with the caption: "Is Spotify feeling okay - this is not how you tell someone that the Hamilton cast was their #4 artist"

Another person posted screenshots from their Spotify Unwrapped which was completely taken over by Hamilton. They said: "I HATE MYSELF MY HAMILTON PHASE WAS SO APPARENT AND NOW MY ENTIRE 2020 WRAPPED IS JUST HAMILTON I WAS HOPING IT WAS GONNA BE DOJA CAT WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY".

Similarly, a third account said: "I basically pay for a subscription to the Hamilton playlist."

One man suggested his Spotify Wrapped was taken over by Hamilton because his family play the soundtrack on repeat. He said: "i would post my spotify wrapped but it's all hamilton music because my spotify account is linked to my family alexa". Sure, we believe you...

"My Spotify wrapped up is everything I predicted lmao HAMILTON," added another woman.

Whilst another woman reflected on her year, with some help from Spotify. "I can't stop laughing at my Spotify wrapped bc I was really sad with a sprinkle of Hamilton". Many people can relate.

"My spotify wrapped this year is mostly hamilton and i'm so embarrassed," shared one woman.

In July, the streaming network Disney+ debuted Hamilton for everyone around the world to watch after theatres closed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The film will combine footage of the live theatre show (from a recording of the show in 2016) with filmed segments.
