Everyone Is Losing Their Minds Over Mariah Carey And Ariana Grande's Christmas Whistle Tone Duet

Christmas came early this year!

This year may not have been what everyone expected but we have had a whole host of incredible, all-female collaborations in music. From Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce's viral smash 'Savage (remix)', to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande's 'Rain on Me', we love them all.

On Friday, Mariah Carey, Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson joined forced to add another mind-blowing collaboration into the mix, an extra festive remix of Mariah Carey's song 'Oh Santa!' and Twitter is obsessed.

Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson and Ariana Grande have teamed up for a remix of 'Oh Santa!' just in time for Christmas (

The music video, featuring all three artists performing the song in what looks like Santa's workshop surrounded by dancing elves, has amassed over 13 million views.

One of the reasons for its immense popularity, in addition to Christmas being only 18 days away, is Mariah and Ariana's harmonised whistle tone-riff.

Mariah is known for her infamous whistle register and Ariana is one of a few artists who can whistle alongside the 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' songstress.

"Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande doing the whistle tone together saved 2020", wrote on Twitter user.

Another delighted fan said: "Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande doing the whistle tone together is everything."

A third viewer added: "These three vocal monsters just gave us a vocally impressive song, Jennifer Hudson's jaw dropping belts and high notes and a mother and daughter goals, Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande's harmonising whistle notes. They literally saved 2020!!!" we agree

Twitter essentially agreed that the power of the whistle tone saved 2020.

Mariah and Ariana were so in sync, some people theorised they were actually mother and daughter. Could this be the next big social media mystery of the year?!

"Y'all sure Mariah Carey didn't birth Ariana Grande .....I mean they literally just hit a whistle tone note in unison and I just." wrote one person.

"Mariah Carey and ariana grande having a little mother-daughter moment ahhh", added another.

An Arianator (an Ariana Grande super-fan) concurred: ".@ArianaGrande and @MariahCarey having a mother daughter moment, omg..... look at her smile"

While a fourth Twitter user wanted to become part of the Carey-Grande-Hudson family themselves. They captioned a picture with all three vocalists with: "My mother, my sister and my auntie all in one frame". We love a family reunion, or in this case, a family union.

Why have the three ladies teamed up? Well, last month Mariah and Apple TV+ accounced Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas Special, featuring a large list of special celebrity guests including Tiffany Haddish, Billy Eichner, Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Misty Copeland and Mykal-Michelle Harris. Mariah's twins Morrocan and Monroe joined their mum for the special. Even The Peanuts Gang, famous for Snoopy and Charlie Brown, are in attendance.

'Oh Santa!' is a sneak peek at what we can expect from the Christmas extravaganza. A performance of 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' is sure to happen too.
