Everything We Know About The 'Miranda' Christmas Special

The BBC show is galloping back onto the TV in time for Christmas.

It has been ten years since the slapstick comedy Miranda galloped onto our screens and now we're in for a Christmas 10th anniversary special.

We can still remember the last episode vividly, which aired on New Year's Day in 2015, when Miranda (Miranda Hart) and Gary (Tom Ellis) finally got married. Ahhh!

Fans were heartbroken when it ended and have been hoping for a revival ever since.

So what do we know about the Miranda reunion?

The reason for the reunion is because November 2019 will mark ten years since the first episode of Miranda aired.

However, the Christmas special will not be returning in a typical format - it is going to be filmed celebrations at The London Palladium with the cast and crew, plus some special guests, and it will all be unscripted.

She said when announcing the news on Twitter: "Hello to you - I am with news. So, in November it will be 10 years since the first episode of Miranda aired.

"We are 10! And we have decided to have a party. The Miranda cast on and off screen are all about play, being free to be ourselves and silliness, so we are amazed and delighted that BBC One have agreed that our celebrations will be recorded as a one-hour special later in the year.

"I will keep you posted but I suspect there might just be some special guests, probably the odd bit of dancing, definitely some drinks and nibbles."

She added in a later tweet: "For those asking - no it's not a scripted sitcom special. It's a one off celebration with guests and stuff from the London Palladium."

While we're slightly disappointed the sitcom won't be returning for a special episode as such, we're sure comedienne Miranda won't disappoint when she appears at the iconic home of British entertainment.

BBC said of the one-off celebration show: "This special entertainment show will feature a host of treats and surprises as the cast reunite to look back over a decade of such fun, friendship, romance and everything that made millions of fans connect with this unique and very special sitcom."

The one hour show with Miranda at the helm will reflect on the last decade, but promises to also be a silly funny celebration. (

They go on to promise "an unforgettable night of magical memories" "poignant reflections," "behind the scenes titbits and much silliness," which will all be accompanied by "enforced galloping". Naturally.

The star of the show herself is certainly excited about Miranda: My Such Fun Celebration, but she isn't revealing much just yet.

She posted a video of herself on Instagram with 'I'm so Excited' music on in the background in October and captioned it: "I am so excited and I just"... can't tell you anymore than that about 'Miranda: My Such Fun Celebration' rehearsals...".

Which channel will the Miranda Christmas celebration be on?

We can confirm the one off celebration show will be shown on BBC One.

When will Miranda: My Such Fun Celebration air?

The air date unfortunately is yet to be confirmed but it will be later this year, so as Miranda would say "bear with, bear with". Given that the filming for the special will be on 11th November, we expect it will land sometime in December.

The good news is if you're a superfan, you can get tickets to be in the audience on the filming date here.

Who will be at the Miranda party at the London Palladium?

It is unknown if Tom Ellis will return for the 60-minute London Palladium special. (

Miranda will obviously be involved, considering it wouldn't be a show reunion without her. As for co-star Tom Ellis, we're unsure given that he no longer resides in the UK, but fans will be hoping to see him as well as Sarah Hadland, Patricia Hodge and Sally Phillips.

No cast members have been confirmed for the reunion just yet though.

What other details about the Miranda special celebration do we know?

She revealed on Instagram that loads of new merchandise will be dropping soon on her website and she teased one of the items, a T-shirt that says 'Such fun being me'. LOL.

The new merch hasn't yet dropped, but she promises the site will be updated soon.

It is all going to be SUCH FUN.
