With the nights getting chillier, the festive season is the perfect time to pour a hot brew, put your feet up and indulge in a series or five.

Great timing, then, that the kind folks at the BBC have decided to spoil viewers by adding a big old Christmas sack of acclaimed full-series box-sets to iPlayer - just in time for the holidays.

Like this iconic moment for example:

This means instant access to old favourites as well as a chance to catch up on plots ahead of upcoming specials and comebacks. Yes please.

What goodies can we expect? Well, in preparation for its tenth anniversary special, the entire series of British comedy hit Miranda is back on the site for fans to enjoy.

The anniversary episode, titled Miranda: My Such Fun Celebration, will reunite the cast with lead Miranda Hart for a one-off special at The London Palladium, looking back at the show's 10-year history.

The BBC said the episode would involve plenty of "silliness, dancing and enforced galloping".

"What happened with my sitcom and comedy alter ego over the last 10 years has been unexpected to say the least," said Miranda. "So it's very moving for me to have the chance to celebrate and thank my cast and the fans from the Palladium stage.

Miranda first screened in November 2009, and ran for three series, with several specials, the last of which aired on New Year's Day 2015.

Ahead of the show's milestone return, fans can watch the entire evolution of its central bumbling, wise-cracking, farting comedy giant on iPlayer.

As for us, we'll be re-watching Just Act Normal - where Miranda and Penny are forced into therapy for an assessment with an unnervingly silent therapist - and Date, which sees Miranda attempt a makeover at the prospect of her first real date.

Elsewhere, viewers can catch up with the Shipmans and the Wests by watching the entirety of Gavin & Stacey ahead of the series' comeback on 25th December.

Beyond cult comedy (award-winning series Fleabag and This Country are also available) there are costume dramas, mind-expanding documentaries, childhood classics and more.

From period drama favourite Call the Midwife to cult favourite Doctor Who, iPlayer is a who's who of TV gold this Christmas - and we're very into it.
