Millie Bobby Brown is to star in a brand new Netflix thriller, The Girls I've Been.

The Stranger Things actress has signed up to play the lead in the streaming platform's upcoming LGBTQ+ movie, which is based on a novel in the works by Tess Sharpe.

We don't yet know much about the plot, seeing as the book won't be released until next January, but what we do know is that it centres around a bisexual con artist called Nora (Bobby Brown) who is caught in a hostage situation at a bank and is forced to use her knack for manipulation and persuasion to get herself, her girlfriend and her ex boyfriend out of the sticky situation.

The book's synopsis reads: "Nora O'Malley's been a lot of girls. As the daughter of a con-artist who targets criminal men, she grew up her mother's protege.

"But when mom fell for the mark instead of conning him, Nora pulled the ultimate con: escape. For five years she's been playing at normal. But she needs to dust off the skills she ditched because she has three problems.

"#1: her ex walked in on her with her girlfriend. Even though they've all been inseparable for months, Wes didn't know about her and Iris. #2: The morning after, they all have to meet to deposit the fundraiser money they raised together.

"It's a nightmare that goes from awkward to deadly. Because #3: right after they get in the bank, two guys start robbing it. But they have no idea who they're really holding hostage. The robbers are trouble. Nora's something else entirely."

A writer and a director are still yet to be announced for the film, but what we do know is that Jason Bateman, who famously starred in Ozark, will reportedly be producing alongside Aggregate Films, while 16-year-old Millie will also be producing through PCMA Productions, according to Deadline.

Here's hoping the film goes into production ASAP! We'll keep you posted with all the deets.
