PSA: Michelle and Barack Obama are creating *another* Netflix show, following on from the success of American Factory.

The couple's production company, Higher Ground, produced the successful documentary last year and are now working on a film adaptation of the novel, Exit West by Moshin Hamid.

Netflix will co-produce alongside the Russo Brothers - Joe and Anthony Russo (Avengers: Endgame) - and filming is set to begin in spring.

Published in 2017, Exit West focuses on fiercely independent Nadia and conservative Saeed, who embark on a passionate love affair around the time civil war is breaking out in their country.

As their romance develops, the unnamed city is thrust even further into conflict and the government implements a series of restrictions, including the decision to cut off all mobile phone services - meaning the pair can no longer contact each other.

As tension mounts, Nadia and Saeed begin to hear whisperings about strange doors that lead to different locations. At a hefty price, the pair decide to flee the city through one of the doors, taking the ultimate risk and leaving their old lives behind.

From London, to Mykonos and California, they face an immense struggle on each leg of their journey, but will it strengthen their early relationship? Or will it break them?

The book follows how the pair are flung into a totally unfamiliar world - and if the adaptation is *anything* like the book, it will be both powerful and gripping.

Barack himself has previously said it's one of his favourite novels, so it certainly makes sense that he and Michelle are behind the adaptation.

Riz Ahmed will star (

So far, Riz Ahmed (The OA) has been confirmed to take the lead role of Saeed, but we're still eagerly awaiting news on who else will be involved.

It's not confirmed when the adaptation might be released (hopefully this year) but with the Obamas' first film winning an Academy Award for best documentary feature this year - we reckon we're in safe hands with this one.
