We're all hooked on Married At First Sight Australia, with most of our evenings spent bingeing the latest series that has dropped on All 4.

Having first aired in Australia in 2019, us Brits have been left open-mouthed at the drama, which has seen some truly shocking moments.

Perhaps the most eye-widening moment was when Lizzie Sobinoff was partnered off with Sam Ball - only for Sam to "cheat" on Lizzie with co-star Ines Basic. Sam and Lizzie then quit the show, with the latter saying Sam and Ines "deserved" each other.

Now, Sam has hit out at producers of the show, saying that the cast was "manipulated" and certain moments were "staged" to manufacture yet more drama.

In a seven minute rant on Instagram, the 28-year-old said: "This is more for you guys in the UK so you can understand the truth, because you are loving it so, thank you for enjoying the show as I'm about to ruin it for you."

Speaking about that now infamous moment with Ines, 30, Sam explained: "They [the producers] pulled me into a black room and asked me to do the Ines thing.

"They got Ines to DM me on the phone, that was all staged.

"The whole Ines thing started to happen. I throw her on the bed on that date night, not even five seconds later producers come in, de-mic you all that. I didn't sleep with Ines that night, it didn't happen. I didn't sleep with anyone on the show. Mark my words."

He added: "I didn't really care at the time what it looked like. I was just in the zone. I've acted before in TV commercials. I've been doing this from way before the show.

"It was a job for me. I got paid to do this just like everyone else."

Sam proceeded to go through some of Married At First Sight's most integral formats, and claimed them all to "staged or scripted" in some way.

"The experts do not pick the couples, the producers do. They have a list of people that they have to find. They approach them on Instagram or whatever, and ask you to go on the show," he said.

"I actually did apply for the show, that's the funny part, but I know for example, Elizabeth, didn't apply. She got approached at a jewellery store."

Sam also claimed that producers "manipulated" him in calling Lizzie "fat" when asked what he made of her.

"The producers ask you about your new partner," he said. "I said, I'm sure she's great, she's got a great smile, good eyes, good energy, cant wait to get to know her.

"[Producers said] Sam, you're not giving us enough, give us something more.

"I'm sure she's got a lovely family, can't wait to meet them all and spend time with her."

Sam continued: "And then they f***ing go off track. They manipulate you, they tell you what to say. They ask you questions until you answer it the way they want you to answer it. They'll give you suggestions and tell you and prompt you to say things. That's what happened.

"Because I thought Lizzie was a lovely girl. I was trying to give her positive compliments until they told me to say what I said. That's what happened.

"Lizzie literally got out of the limo and producers would say look how chunky tubby is. Like I said she was bigger than girls I usually dated. I meant height. I didn't want to shame her at all. They were not my intentions. They asked me to say it. They were the ones who were like, damn, she's a big girl mate. What are you doing? Blah blah blah. That's messed up, they shouldn't do that. It's all bull***."

Sam explained why he had to miss parts of the show, explaining he had to attend the funeral of his ex-girlfriend's mother instead of going to a funeral, as well as a case of chickenpox that saw him isolate.

"It's all scripted. They make you do what they want you to do," he said.

When the show first aired in Australia, Sam was forced to delete his social media for six months after he was on the receiving end of extensive trolling.

In other MAFS news, Lizzie has shown off a dramatic new look after the show, having dyed her hair a chocolate brown and toning down her previously dramatic make-up.
